What’s a job you would like to do for just one day?
What is a job would I like to do for just one day? I have far too many to write about just one. I would enjoy working in a factory that handles molten metal but most definitely only a short while. I do not prefer very warm climates. I would also find it fascinating to be the people who collect lava samples. I would love to be a pilot or a captain of a ship. I would like to try a hand at underwater welding or see if I like washing sky scraper’s windows. A morgue would be fascinating to work in once or twice but I wouldn’t want to make it a way of life. So many choices and so little time. I guess if I had to just choose one I would say, I would want to work alongside the elite of elite. Those few and far between that run this country from the shadows. The ones who hide secret knowledge and dictate what I am to know. This is the one job I would like to do for a day. Then I could put a face to the wicked and deceitful happenings of this nation. I could let people know all the information that is hidden and distorted. Another time another place I suppose. Exodus 21 1 Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.
2 If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.
3 If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.
4 If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself.
5 And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:
6 Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.
7 And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.
8 If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.
9 And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.
10 If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.
11 And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money.
12 He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.
13 And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee.
14 But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.
15 And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.
16 And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
17 And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.
18 And if men strive together, and one smite another with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keepeth his bed:
19 If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.
20 And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.
21 Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.
22 If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
23 And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
24 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
25 Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
26 And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye’s sake.
27 And if he smite out his manservant’s tooth, or his maidservant’s tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth’s sake.
28 If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit.
29 But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death.
30 If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.
31 Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him.
32 If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.
33 And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein;
34 The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.
35 And if one man’s ox hurt another’s, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide.
36 Or if it be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own.
Exodus 22 1 If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.
2 If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.
3 If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.
4 If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall restore double.
5 If a man shall cause a field or vineyard to be eaten, and shall put in his beast, and shall feed in another man’s field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard, shall he make restitution.
6 If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field, be consumed therewith; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.
7 If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man’s house; if the thief be found, let him pay double.
8 If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour’s goods.

From my experiences when a God closes a door, the one He opens is always better than I could have ever imagined. More often than not, I am completely redirected, set on a path I never would have seen without divine intervention. I recall desperately needing a job at one point in my life. I applied to a prison close to my neighborhood and was told at the end of the interview, “They would be in contact with a start date.” I came home and celebrated with my husband. I waiting anxiously for the call. The next week I received a letter in the mail stating I was not chosen for employment. I was divested and confused as to why the change in decision. Not long after the let down I received a call from the employer that directed me into the career I am in today.
I was told a short time later that the prison offered mandatory 12 hour shifts with additional hours when the next shift didn’t show. Holidays were always worked in rotation and benefits were lacking. I believe God felt the need to redirect me. For more reasons than one, and probably many I can’t even see, I was not meant to work at a prison. I am blessed to have the career I have now and know God has had his hand in many aspects of my life. I strive to live a Christ centered lifestyle and ask His blessing in every direction I take. I know after all, that if God doesn’t have his hand in it, it will never prosper. Without His blessings, nothing succeeds. If it does, I don’t want it. Do you have a time when God redirected you? Sometimes, but only because I feel obligated. In reality it is a waste of time because the whole electoral college is a bunch of lies and deception. The government uses the elephant and the donkey to keep us divided and distracted.
Since I do not follow or pay any attention to brands in fashion or most everyday life I will give a little spin to this prompt. Sure, I know that brands dominate my life and flash everywhere before me. In fact, I can look around and see 20 or so without moving but what is the fun in that topic. So here is a history on cow branding, a much more interesting and intriguing concept.
The first known record of livestock branding dates to over 4,700 years ago, depicted in an ancient Egyptian tomb painting, and passages in the Old Testament of the Bible reference brandings. Romans branded cattle, choosing symbols that acted not as identification markers, but as supernatural protection. Our modern-day language is impregnated with allusions to branding. Even the ubiquitous “branding” of marketing departments derives from branding livestock.
The practice came to America by way of European travelers.After they became more widely used by ranches, custom branding irons were made to differentiate one ranch’s herd from another. Variations of brands like crazy, lazy, flying, running and walking soon populated the West to ensure that a ranch’s insignia stood out.
Besides the traditional hot branding, other methods include electric brands, which use an electric heating element, and freeze branding, which uses dry ice or liquid nitrogen to chill the iron.
Today the branding iron’s use can be seen as a wood burning tool, custom branding steak or barbecue, and marking livestock in the same tradition that has been practiced for thousands of years.
3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
What are the teachings in these verses? Oftentimes the word childlike faith is thrown around, but what does that mean?
Take a moment to ponder just what the words “childlike faith” means. Picture a child, specifically a very young child. What are some of the things children depend on their parents for? Regular meals and drinks. A clean place to live. Care, love and attention. Clothes and shoes to wear. A child needs guidance and direction. They need someone to teach them and to discipline them. They require someone to talk to and run to when they have a problem. Children need to be protected and looked after. Most, if not all, would perish without parental intervention.
Now take all those examples and apply it to faith. God is our father, he is our closest relative. We are his children as recorded in Galatians 3:26: “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus”. To me Mathew 18 3-4 is saying we should count on God as our primary caregiver, the Father in which he is. God promised all those things to us and so much more.
Philippians 4:19 – But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Matthew 6:31-32 – Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
Matthew 7:7-11 – Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
Psalms 32:8 – I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
Isaiah 58:11 – And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
James 1:5-8 – If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Psalms 46:10 – Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth
Proverbs 3:6 – In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding
The Bible echoes God’s promises over and over again. The verses above are only a few examples of scripture that all point to the same thing, having childlike faith.
Time and time again the Bible tells us to trust in the Father completely to provide for our needs. He says he will lead, guide, direct and protect. He will never leave nor forsake us. He tells us all things and knows what we need before we even ask. Just like when we were infants, without Christ we will perish. We would die an everlasting death. Solidify your trust in the One Parental Guardian. Listen to His instructions daily and He will guide you to prosperity. As Mathew 6:33 reminds us “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Could it be said that you have childlike faith? Or do you lean on your own understanding and plans? Do you completely and totally rely on God or do you still think you’re in control? Are we in any more control than an infant waiting to be fed? Are you really in control or are you stealing God’s glory to call your own? Everything you have was given to you by God. Or do you actually think it all came from hard work and dedication? Do you have childlike faith or is your faith as mature as a child?

5 And Jethro, Moses’ father in law, came with his sons and his wife unto Moses into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mount of God:

7 And Moses went out to meet his father in law, and did obeisance, and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare; and they came into the tent.
8 And Moses told his father in law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, and all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them.
9 And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.

Exodus 19 1 In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai.
2 For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount.
3 And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;
4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself.
5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

16 And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.
17 And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.
18 And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.
19 And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.
20 And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.
21 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through unto the LORD to gaze, and many of them perish.
22 And let the priests also, which come near to the LORD, sanctify themselves, lest the LORD break forth upon them.
23 And Moses said unto the LORD, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai: for thou chargedst us, saying, Set bounds about the mount, and sanctify it.
24 And the LORD said unto him, Away, get thee down, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests and the people break through to come up unto the LORD, lest he break forth upon them.
25 So Moses went down unto the people, and spake unto them.
Exodus 20 1 And God spake all these words, saying,
2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

18 And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.
19 And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.
21 And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.
22 And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.

I Thessalonians 5 1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
25 Brethren, pray for us.
26 Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.
27 I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.
28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
The first epistle to the Thessalonians was written from Athens.
Once upon a time I used to think I was born in the wrong generation. It would seem as though I was meant for a simpler time. A time when people made things by hand and had pride in a job well done. Intricate detail decorated every piece of architecture and showcased craftsmanship. A time when everyone had morals and a sense of respect. The world back then seems grander, more authentic, with the idea of hope still alive. A harder time maybe, but a time that was meaningful and honorable.
During that state of mind I would often wonder what kind of world my children would be raised in. Would it even be worth having children? Would it be fair to them to be brought into this dark world? I now have 3 children and still ponder what the world will be like in the future. I can already see corruption that has infiltrated EVERY aspect of our lives. I can see the great falling away as more deny Christ. I often fear what this world is coming to.
Then I remember God doesn’t make mistakes. He placed my children and I exactly where he needs us. We are here and now because He has a job for us to do. What kind of work are you doing for the Lord? Have you given him dominion over your life?
Maybe Father has me here to raise Godly children. Maybe it’s for the seed I will plant next week or the stranger that needs a helping hand. I know I have a purpose and I strive to follow His plan. We are all here for a purpose. God has a plan for you too, you just have to open your heart and let HIM in.
