What is your favorite holiday? Why is it your favorite?

What is my favorite holiday and why? My favorite holiday is the day or two I take a year just for myself. I will spend the whole day visiting consignment shops and independent books stores. All the other traditional holidays I am usually the one making all the magic happen. At the end of the day I am exhausted and overwhelmed. I am blessed to be able to provide my family with decorative birthdays and holidays but each one takes a lot of work and countless decision making. I enjoy them, don’t get me wrong, but it usually evolves me hustling and busting to pull it all together. For this reason my favorite holiday is the one I take for myself. A tiny adventure to enchanted little book stores and magical little thrift stores. Where the next great find could be right around the corner. In fact, I think it’s about time for another one.
Great gestures…
Hope you find peace
Godspeed

When I retired I moved from Long Island, NY to Lancaster, PA. Now, my favorite holidays are the days when my New York friends come to visit.

I used to never allow myself the luxury. Too little time and someone always needs something. Now I wish I would have done it more often. Especially when I read a book I found on one of the adventures. They are always a little more special as each one holds the memory of how I found it on my little adventure. Thank you for your comment and God bless.
