Chaos and Love

What’s your home decoration style?

What is my home decoration style?

I would like to describe this with a rhyme,

if you have the time.

You see, my design is quite unique

No one could ever have a decor quite like my families.

Let me explain what I mean

And what it is so special to me.

Remnants of birthday decorations speckle the dining room ceiling.

I tried to remove them 5 years ago, but the paper started peeling.

Hand drawn murals decorate random walls.

A toddler with a marker is always the cause.

My couch is one color, the chair another.

The curtains may have came from my mother.

Toys are scattered across the floor.

I clean it daily, but there is always more.

The kitchen counter overflows with mismatched plates, and bowls.

Who put them there nobody knows.

The bathroom shower curtain has lovely flowers and bees.

But the one on the window shows bears and trees.

Framed memories hang for all to see.

Within them I can count all of our hopes and dreams.

My house has a decor all of its own.

Pieced together by what each child has sewed.

Mixed and matched according to each milestone.

This is the place I call home.

I am unsure of a name.

Perhaps it would better explain.

To say that my house is decorated with chaos and love.

And greatly blessed by The One above.

Besides, who has the time

to chase after the magazines and tv designs.

I like mine just fine,

in this season of time.
